30/August/2013 – MVC with Air Evacuation x 3 – “B” Shift

Incident # 13-04742 – Edisto Beach units responded to a multi-patient MVC near 1706 Myrtle Street Friday afternoon 30-August at 16:34. Initial reports indicate a golf cart transporting two adults and a small child was struck broadside by a passenger car. The golf cart overturned ejecting the three passengers. The driver of the car was not injured. The three people on the golf cart received life threatening traumatic injuries. They were treated at the scene by Medic 20, then transported to the Golf Driving Range on Edisto Island to meet with medical helicopters. Three helicopters from LifeNet responded. Lifenet 4 from Walterboro, Lifenet 6 from Springfield Georgia and Lifenet 7 from Charleston all landed at the Golf Range. The two adult females and a three year old male were flown to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston. Edisto Beach Fire Dept and St Pauls Fire Department assisted and set up the Landing Zone. Fire-Rescue Medic 9 also responded to assist Medic 20 but had an extended response time. Edisto Beach Police Department worked the accident.
