29/September/2013 – Structure Fire – “C” Shift

Incident # 13-05301 – An early morning arson fire destroyed a singlewide mobile home at 104 Cheshire Lane in the Jacksonboro Community Sunday 29-September. A neighbor reported seeing flames coming from the vacant structure at 01:17. Firefighters saved the home in July, containing what was believed to an electrical fire in a bathroom to one end of the structure. The neighbors reported to the Deputy that they had seen people going inside the building off and on since the previous fire. Engine 9 responded from a vehicle fire on Jacksonboro Road, arriving within minutes of the dispatch. They reported the singlewide mobile home was approximately 70% involved. Firefighters initially deployed a 2-1/2 handline to knock down the heavy flames, then used two 1-3/4 handlines to finish extinguishing the fire. There was not power to the building, but it still contained furniture. The interior was completely gutted with most of the floor and contents burned away. Arson investigators from SLED responded to the scene and spent about half a day there on Sunday. Firefighters were on the scene for 3-1/2 hours and Fire Investigators were on the scene assisting SLED throughout the afternoon.

Engine 2, Engine 6, Engine 9, Tender 2, Tender 12, Tender 27, Battalion 1, Medic 6, Medic 9 and Car 12 responded. Firefighter-Paramedic Pat Powell served as Incident Commander.
