02/October/2013 – Structure Fire – “A” Shift Incident # 13-05385 – A suspected electrical
problem caused a fire underneath a doublewide mobile home Wednesday
evening 2-October. At 20:55, 9-1-1 was notified of a house on fire at
364 Mars Oldfield Road. Engine 36 arrived to find fire under the house
near the frame rail. The homeowner had used a pot of water to knock down
some of the fire prior to firefighter’s arrival. Crews deployed one
1-3/4 handline and extinguished the flames. The fire burned several
floor supports, insulation and flooring and had just entered a bathroom
on the interior of the structure. Firefighters identified hot spots
inside the home with a thermal imaging camera. They removed flooring in
the bathroom to overhaul the burned floor. Crews then ventilated the
smoke from inside the home. Units were on the scene for about an hour. Engine 9, Engine 36, Tender 9, Tender 19, Tender
27, Tender 903, Medic 9, Battalion 1 and Car 12 responded. Lt. Jimmy
