26/October/2013 – Hospital’s 30 Year Anniversary
Colleton Medical Center celebrated its 30th Birthday with an event on the hospital campus, Saturday morning 26-October. Local dignitaries as well as many hospital staffers and the public attended. The program began at 10:00 in the front parking lot with a welcome from Hospital CEO Bradley Griffin followed by an invocation from Rev. Zane Brown. Many staff members were recognized, including 25 members who have worked at the facility in excess of 30 years. Dr. Flowers, who was instrumental in establishing the facility 30 years ago, served as the keynote speaker. Other speakers included Bernard Warshaw, Dr. Calcutt, Tom Lohr and Phillip Taylor. The weather was cooperative for the outside event. Each hospital department had a display and Fire-Rescue was on hand with Engine 19 and Medic 26. WPS operated the Fire-Safety house. Light food was served and a jump castle was provided for the children. Hospital staffers provided face and hair painting. The program ran until 13:00.
