20/November/2013 – Fatal Shooting Incident – “A” Shift

Incident # 13-06331 – Fire-Rescue and Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 12 Brights Court for a shooting incident Wednesday morning 20-November at 04:44. Deputies cleared the scene and found the 30 year old man lying unconscious, face down in the front yard. Firefighter-Paramedics quickly began treating the man who received gunshot wounds to the head and torso. A medical helicopter was requested. He was immobilized, then quickly transported to the helipad at Colleton Medical Center to meet with LifeNet 4. During the transfer to the Flight Crew, the patient went into cardiac arrest. He was then moved into the ED, but resuscitation was unsuccessful. The Colleton County Sheriff’s and Coroner’s Office are investigating.

Engine 1, Medic 1, Battalion 1 and Car 12 responded. Chief McRoy served as Incident Commander.
