04/December/2013 – MVC with Extrication – “A” Shift

An adult male received non-life threatening injuries when his car collided with a pickup truck in the 1200 block of Adnah Church Road 04-December at 15:29. Both side doors on the small station wagon were damaged and would not open. Due to the patient’s position and injuries, Firefighters used Holmatro Rescue Tools to remove the driver’s door to extricate the man. He was treated at the scene, then transported to Colleton Medical Center by Medic 18. The driver of the second vehicle was not injured. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

Engine 15, Medic 18, Rescue 1, Battalion 1 and Car 12 responded. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton served as Incident Commander.
