14-February-2014 – Storm Recovery
Efforts continue countywide to clear roadways and restore power to thousands
of people throughout the county. Power Company crews and tree clearing
companies from around the country are diligently working to get things back
to normal and are working well into the night. Local crews continue to work
long hours to provide safe passage for the general public as services are
stretched beyond any predicted limits. Governor Haley visited the area and
toured storm damaged communities. Utility companies have power restored to
many customers, but several thousands of homes/businesses remain without
electricity. Many Forestry Operations lost thousands of trees, which broke
in half. It may be some time before the true economic impact is known.
