01/April/2014 – Mutual Aid Structure Fire – “B” Shift

Incident # 14-02042 – Fire-Rescue sent eight personnel on a mutual aid request to assist Allendale County Fire Department with overhaul of a large commercial facility located at 9918 Bufords Bridge Highway in Fairfax. The company which is operated by Georgia Pacific, manufactures OSB boards. The fire occurred in a wood chip holding building which is several stories high. Allendale firefighters had been on the scene since the prior day. Several neighboring fire departments responded to assist in overhauling the facility. They only requested personnel, since Allendale County had adequate apparatus at the scene. Crews left Colleton around noon and returned that night.

Car 109, 117 and Battalion 1 responded. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton supervised Colleton crews.
