04 and 05 April - Safe Kids Fair – “B” and “C” shifts

The annual Safe Kids Safety Fair was held at the National Guard Armory Friday and Saturday from 09:00 to 13:00. All third grade students were brought to the fair on Friday morning to rotate through the exhibits. The event is sponsored by the Safe Kids Coalition from Colleton Medical Center. Displays included, Colleton Medical Center, School Bus Safety, Gun Safety, ATV Safety, the Sheriff’s Office, 9-1-1 Communications, Coastal Electric, an animal farm, animal safety and Fire-Rescue. Fire-Rescue had Engine 19, ARFF 19, Tender 27, several Medic Units and the Fire Safety House were on display. Patches, Fire-Rescue’s robotic dog was also in attendance to help teach spread the Fire and Life Safety message. Several thousand children attended the Safety Fair. The event is coordinated by Yvonne Penfield from Colleton Medical Center.
