03/August/2014 – Double Shooting Incident – “B” Shift Incident # 14-04549 – Two people were injured in a
shooting incident at Classics Nightclub located at 2444 Robertson Blvd
Sunday morning 03-August. Reportedly an altercation took place around 03:00
resulting in several shots being fired and pepper spray was said to be
discharged inside the facility. A female victim was shot in the leg and
transported by private auto to Colleton Medical Center. An adult male
received gun shots to both legs with significant injuries and suspected
fractures. County and City Law Enforcement Officers secured the scene and
dealt with an unruly crowd as Firefighter-Paramedics treated and stabilized
the man. A second ambulance was sent to the area of Robertson Blvd near
Hampton Street for patients suffering from the effects of pepper spray from
the same incident, however no patients could be located. The man was treated
at the scene, then quickly transported to Colleton Medical Center. He
transferred shortly thereafter to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston
for surgery. At least one car was struck by gun fire. The Colleton County
Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident. Medic 1, Medic 19, Battalion 1 and Car 12 responded.
