02/September/2014 – Traumatic Injury with Air Evac –
“C” Shift Incident # 14-05200 – An adult male was seriously
injured after falling approximately 20 feet while loading a truck off of the
22000 block of Bells Highway Tuesday morning 02-September at 10:28. Medic 18
arrived to the field and had to be taken to the patient in a pickup truck.
The man was found unconscious. A medical helicopter was requested and a
landing zone was established at the baseball field in the Town of Lodge. The
patient was immobilized and placed in the back of the pickup, then
transported back to the ambulance. Once loaded, he was transported to the
baseball field to meet with LifeNet 4. The transfer to the flight crew was
handled without incident and the patient was flown to the Trauma Center at
MUSC in Charleston. Engine 3, Engine 4, Medic 18, Battalion 1 and Car 105
responded. Captain Matt Williams served as Incident Commander. |
