19/January/2015 – Structure Fire - “A” Shift Incident # 15-00377 – Firefighters responded to 9307
Augusta Hwy Monday evening 19-January at 21:45 for a structure fire. Callers
to 9-1-1 reported flames coming out of the windows of a mobile home at that
location. Engine 17 arrived minutes later and reported a fully involved
singlewide mobile and that the roof had already collapsed. They verified
that the only occupant had escaped unharmed. Crews deployed two 1-3/4
handlines to extinguish the fire. The fire appears to have started in a
bedroom at one end of the structure. The room was equipped with a wood
burning stove. The occupant was in the other end of the dwelling when he
discovered the fire. Firefighters were on the scene for several hours. The
Red Cross is assisting the man.
Engine 17, Engine 26, Tender 5, Tender 7, Tender 19,
Tender 27, Tender 36, Medic 26, Battalion 1 and Car 118 responded. Battalion
Chief Dan Barb served as Incident Commander. |
