23/January/2015 – Traumatic Injury with Air Evac – “B” Shift

Incident # 15-00445 – An adult female suffered a critical head injury after falling at her Mount Carmel Home Friday morning 23-January. The incident was reported at 11: 43 in the 800 block. Firefighter-Paramedics began treating the woman and called for additional assistance. They placed a medical helicopter on standby, while they attempted to stabilize the patient. She was transported emergent from the scene and met with the LifeNet 4 medical helicopter at the helipad located at Colleton Medical Center. The Flight Crew flew her to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston.

Engine 26, Medic 26, Battalion 1 and Car 118 responded. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton served as Incident Commander.
