29/January/2015 – Structure Fire – “B” Shift

Incident # 15-00544 – At 15:30, 29-January Fire-Rescue units were sent to the Innophos Nutrition facility at 88 Weiss Lane for a fire in the Laboratory. Engine 6 arrived to find light smoke coming from the two story industrial building. Employees had safely exited the building. Firefighters deployed one 1-3/4 handline and found heavy fire conditions in the small lab. The bulk of the fire was quickly knocked down and overhaul took approximately 20 minutes. The interior of the Lab suffered heavy damage, but the building on sustained moderate damage. Personnel on the scene advised the fire started when a container of Ethanol accidentally ignited. No one was injured during the incident.

Engine 2, Engine 6, Tender 2, Tender 6, Medic 6, Ladder 6, HazMat 19, Rescue 1, Battalion 1, Car 105, Car 110, Car 111 and Car 118 responded. Deputy Chief David Greene served as Incident Commander.
