21/February/2015 - Auto vs Pedestrian with Air Evac –
“C” Shift Incident # 15-00957 – An adult man received life
threatening injuries after being struck by a car in 1100 block of Rivers
Street, Saturday morning 21-February at 02:54. Witness advised a car backed
over the man who was standing in the street next to the Apollo Lounge.
Firefighter-Paramedics found the man unconscious in the street. He was
treated at the scene and a medical helicopter was placed on standby at
Colleton Medical Center. The man was rapidly transported to the helipad at
CMC to meet with LifeNet 4. The flight crew RSIed the patient prior to
flying him to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston. The SC Highway Patrol
and the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the accident. Engine 1, Medic 1, Battalion 1 and Car 12 responded.
