02/April/2015 – Car vs Tractor Trailer MVC – “B” Shift

Incident # 15-01778 – Three people were injured and transported to Colleton Medical Center after a tractor trailer and passenger car collided at the intersection of Bells Hwy and Upchurch Lane, Thursday morning 02-April at 10:07. The adult female driver of the car received multiple traumatic injuries in the crash. She was transported to Colleton Medical Center and later transferred by private ambulance to the Trauma Center at MUSC. A 13 year old female in the car and the adult male driver of the truck were also transported to CMC. Both received minor injuries. Traffic at the busy intersection was block for about 40 minutes. Walterboro Police units detoured traffic until the accident could be cleared.

Medic 1, Medic 26, Battalion 1 and Car 12 responded. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton served as Incident Commander.
