07/April/2015 – Shooting Incident – “A” Shift Incident # 15-01906 – A 23 year old female received a
life threatening gunshot wound in a shooting incident at 1014 Carn Street.
Twenty six minutes after another shooting incident occurred on Jared Road,
Fire-Rescue and Walterboro Police were dispatched to the corner of Carn and
Gerideau Streets for multiple shots being fired. Initial reports indicated
two people were injured, however when responders arrived, there was only one
patient. The woman was found inside the residence with an abdominal injury.
Her condition deteriorated at the scene. While Firefighter-Paramedics
treated the patient, a medical helicopter was requested and sent to the
Lowcountry Regional Airport. The patient was placed in Medic 19, then
transported to the airport. She was transferred to the Meducare flight crew
and flown to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston. City Police units
arrived on the scene quickly and chased the fleeing suspect’s vehicle about
17 miles into the county. The car skidded off of a dirt road on the Donnelly
Wildlife Management property south of Green Pond. Sheriff Deputies and Law
Enforcement officers from several agencies conducted a man hunt through the
night. Walterboro Police is investigating the incident. Engine 19, Medic 19, Battalion 1, Car 12 and Car 105
responded. Captain (Acting Battalion Chief) Scott O’Quinn served as Incident
