12/April/2014 – ATV Accident w/Air Evac – “B” Shift

Incident # 15-02007 – Two people were injured, one seriously in a ATV Rhino side by side accident Sunday afternoon 12-April. At 18:37, Fire-Rescue was sent to a wooded location behind 246 Cory Lane for an overturned ATV. Both patients had been ejected from the vehicle. Several military medics were on the scene. They rendered care and assisted Firefighter-Paramedics. A 25 yr old male and 24 yr old female were injured. Both received multiple traumatic injuries and were rapidly transported to Colleton Medical Center. The male was stabilized at the ED, then flown by medical helicopter to the Trauma Center at MUSC. The female was treated in the ED and later released from CMC.

Engine 26, Medic 26, Battalion 1 and Car 12 responded. Battalion Chief Ben Heape served as Incident Commander.
