23/April/2015 – Over-turned Tractor Trailer – “A” Shift

Incident # 15-02187 – A 26 year old Orangeburg man miraculously received non-life threatening injuries when his tractor trailer over-turned in the 28000 block of Lowcountry Highway Thursday morning 23-April at 05:39. The southbound truck left the roadway a moderate speeds and drove through at least two residential yards, before striking several trees. The loaded semi-truck over-turned and broke into two pieces. The fuel tanks were breached spilling a large quantity of diesel fuel on the ground. The truck driver escaped the cab and was ambulatory when Engine 7 arrived. The load of cement remained intact. The patient was evaluated at the scene, then transported to Colleton Medical Center by Medic 18. DHEC sent representatives to the scene and the SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.  

Engine 7 and Medic 18 responded. Captain John Graham served as Incident Commander.
