13/May/2015 – Shooting Incident – “A” Shift Incident # 15-02589 – Fire-Rescue and Law Enforcement
Officers were sent to 404 Whitsell Street, Lincoln Apartments at 21:11
Wednesday evening 13-May for a shooting incident. The 26 year old male
patient was found on the ground near the 800 building. He suffered GSWs to
the abdomen. Medic 6 has just cleared from the ED and was less than a mile
from the scene when the shooting occurred. Firefighter-Paramedics quickly
treated the man while a medical helicopter was placed on standby. Medic 6
rapidly transported the patient to the helipad at Colleton Medical Center to
meet with LifeNet 4. Within 15 minutes of the initial dispatch, the patient
was transferred to the Flight Crew who RSIed the patient prior to the flight
to the Trauma Center. LifeNet 4 flew the patient to MUSC in Charleston. The
Walterboro Police Department is investigating the incident. Medic 6, Battalion 1, Car 12 and Car 118 responded.
