19/May/2015 – MVC with Entrapment – “A” Shift Incident # 15-02680 – A 20 year old female was
transported to Colleton Medical Center after her car was struck in the
driver’s side by a tractor trailer causing heavy damage. The accident
occurred at the intersection of Bells Hwy and Mt. Carmel Road Tuesday
morning 19-May at 11:57. The patient suffered non-life threatening injuries,
but was unable to exit the vehicle due to the damage. Fire-Rescue responded
to perform the extrication for the City of Walterboro.
Firefighter-Paramedics used Holmatro Hydraulic Tools to remove the driver’s
side door. The patient was extricated with full spinal precautions, then
transported by Medic 26 to CMC. The Walterboro Police Dept is investigating
the crash. The truck driver was not injured. Engine 26, Medic 26, Battalion 1, Car 12 and Car 110
responded. Walterboro Engines 1, 2, and 3 responded. Battalion Chief Dan
Barb served as Rescue Sector Command. |
