30/June/2015 - Double Shooting Incident – “C” Shift

Incident # 15-03654 - Two people received life threatening gunshot injuries in an incident at 307 Breland Street Tuesday morning 30-June. At 02:46, 9-1-1 Dispatchers received reports of two people shot at the location. Walterboro Police Officers arrived quickly and cleared the scene. Firefighter-Paramedic’s found the two adults, one male and one female, in a bedroom of the residence. Both suffered significant injuries. Two Fire-Rescue ambulances and three Paramedic First Response Units went to the scene. Both patients were quickly treated in the home, then rapidly transported to Colleton Medical Center. The male was transferred directly to LifeNet 4 on the helipad at the hospital and was flown to the Trauma Center at MUSC. The female was taken to CMC’s ED to be stabilized. She was later flown by medical helicopter to the Trauma Center at MUSC.  The Walterboro Police Department is investigating the incident.

Medic 1, Medic 19, Battalion 1, Car 12 and Car 118 responded. Battalion Chief Ben Heape served as Incident Commander.
