07/October/2015 – Auto vs Pedestrian – “A” Shift

Incident # 15-05824 - A 14 year old male was injured after the bicycle he was riding was struck by a pickup truck at the intersection of Green Pond Hwy and South Jefferies Blvd Wednesday afternoon 07-October at 16:33. The pickup truck left the scene. The boy was knocked to the grass shoulder, while the bike received moderate damage. Firefighter-Paramedics treated the patient for multiple non-life threatening traumatic injuries, including injuries to his arm and ankle. He was transported to Colleton Medical Center by Fire-Rescue. Walterboro Police Dept is investigating the accident. Witnesses advised the pickup truck was green in color and driven by a white male. Medic 1, Battalion 1, Car 12 and Car 111 responded. WFD Engine 1 also responded. Battalion Chief Dan Barb served as Incident Commander.
