05/April/2016 – MVC with ejection – “A” Shift Incident # 16-02061 – An adult male suffered multiple
traumatic injuries after being ejected from his minivan in a high speed MVC
on Green Pond Highway (SC Hwy 303) north of Runner Lane. The southbound
minivan dropped off of the roadway and overcorrected, causing it to leave
the roadway and strike several trees. The driver was ejected into the
roadway. Several passing motorists stopped to assist the man on the stretch
of rural highway. Firefighter-Paramedics found the man conscious lying in
the southbound lane. The minivan received heavy damage and was on the
shoulder of the road. The man was treated for his injuries, then rapidly
transported to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical in Summerville. The SC
Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Engine 1, Medic 6, Battalion 1, Car 12 and Car 107
responded. Battalion Chief Scott O’Quinn served as Incident Commander. |
