12/May/2016 – High Speed MVC – “C” Shift

Incident # 16-02895 – Three adults were injured in a two vehicle MVC at the intersection of Jefferies Hwy (US Hwy 15) and Augusta Hwy (SC Hwy 61) Canadys Crossroads Thursday afternoon 12-May at 12:37. Two full sized pickup trucks collided in the intersection causing both vehicles to overturn. One truck was pulling a trailer, which was dislodged and traveled into a wooded area. Bystanders assisted two patients from their vehicle prior to the arrival of Fire-Rescue. All patients were transported to Colleton Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Traffic at the busy intersection was tied up for over an hour until the vehicles were cleared. The SC Hwy Patrol is investigating the crash.

Engine 32, Tender 5, Rescue 1, Medic 19, Medic 26, Battalion 1, Car 12 and Car 118 responded. Battalion Chief Ben Heape served as Incident Commander.
