28/May/2016 – Fatal Shooting Incident – “C” shift

Incident 16-03262 – Two adult males were shot, one fatally during an incident at Leon’s Club located at 8150 Round O Road south of Cottageville Saturday morning 28-May. The first report to 9-1-1 was received at 03:28. Two Medic units were assigned while Sheriff’s Deputies secured the scene. Firefighter-Paramedics found a 31 year old male lying in the roadway on the rural section of Round O Road. The second victim was found lying on a car near the building. Bystanders were comforting the injured. Both patients were in critical condition with gunshot wounds to the torso. The patients were quickly treated at the scene, then rapidly transported in separate Fire-Rescue Ambulances to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical in Summerville. Additional Firefighter-Paramedics assisted with their care enroute. One patient died of his injuries shortly after arriving at the Trauma Center. The Colleton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.

Medic 9, Medic 19, Battalion 1 and Car 12 responded. Battalion Chief Scott Feather served as Incident Commander.
