18-June-2016 – Fatal Shooting Incident – “C” Shift Incident # 16-03834 – An adult female died of a
suspected gunshot wound during an incident that occurred at a mobile home in
the 200 block of Chestnut Drive Saturday morning June 18 at 00:43. 9-1-1
received several reports of gunshots fired in the area. Sheriff’s Deputies
arrived to find a four door sedan in the westbound ditch on Chestnut Drive
at the head of the driveway with the unconscious female inside. A second
vehicle was also at the scene. Firefighter-Paramedics arrived minutes later
and determined the woman had no signs of life. The Coroner’s Office was
notified and also responded to the scene. Engine 19 and Battalion 1 set up
lighting to illuminate the crime scene for investigators. The Coroner’s
Office transported the patient’s body to MUSC for further investigation. The
Colleton County Sheriff’s Office is handling the case. Engine 19, Medic 19, Battalion 1 and Car 12 responded.
