29-July-2016 – Bells Hwy MVC – “C” Shift

Incident # 16-04866 – Four adults were transported following a moderate speed MVC at the intersection of Bells Hwy and Hiers Corner Road Friday evening 29-July. At 21:06, two pickup trucks collided in the intersection blocking three lanes of Bells Highway. Three patients received non-life threatening injuries and one patient was more serious. All four were transported by Fire-Rescue to Colleton Medical Center. Traffic on Bells Highway was blocked for nearly an hour. Walterboro Police is investigating to determine if alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash.

Engine 26, Medic 19, Medic 26, Battalion 1, Car 12 and Car 118 responded. Walterboro Engine 1 and Engine 3 also responded. Battalion Chief Ben Heape served as Incident Commander.
