24/August/2016 – Carolina Children’s Charity  

The Carolina Children’s Charity sponsored a meal for Colleton County Firefighters for their continued support in assisting with the fund raising efforts for the organization. The meal was donated by the Kickin’ Chicken Restaurant, Roper St Francis Hospital and the Charity Board of Directors. The event was held at Station # 19 on Wednesday afternoon 24-August. Firefighters enjoyed a generous meal and all on duty crews and several volunteer firefighters participated. A special guest, 8 year old Cory Chisholm and his mother Shenika, stopped by to thank the Firefighters for collecting funds which were used to assist the local family. Cory, who suffers from Cerebral Palsy, toured the fire station and apparatus. The Charity, which operates from donations, serves the populations of Colleton, Dorchester, Berkeley and Charleston Counties. Colleton County Fire-Rescue efforts are coordinated by Firefighter-Paramedic Kristen Dias.
