29/August/2016 – Log Truck MVC – “A” Shift Incident # 16-05657 – An adult male suffered multiple,
non-life threatening injuries after his log truck over-turned in the 3000
block of Jacksonboro Road Monday morning 29-August at 09:42. Initial reports
indicated the driver was trapped in the wreckage, however the man
self-extricated prior to the arrival of Fire-Rescue units. The north bound
loaded log truck dropped off of the shoulder. The driver indicated he was
unable to recover and the truck rolled on its side. The truck struck a power
pole, breaking it in half. Many of the logs were propelled forward damaging
the cab, but the driver escaped serious injury. Logging equipment was
brought the scene to clean up the spilled logs. The driver was treated at
the scene by Firefighter-Paramedics, then transported to Colleton Medical
Center in Medic 9. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident. Engine 6, Engine 9, Medic 9, Rescue 1, Battalion 1 and
Car 105 responded. Lt. Brian Drew served as Incident Commander. |
