10/September/2016 – Structure Fire – “A” Shift

Incident # 16-05962 – A vacant mobile home was destroyed in a suspicious fire Saturday afternoon 10-September. Fire-Rescue units were dispatched to the 100 block of Foxfield Road for a reported structure on fire at 13:23. Engine 24 arrived to advise the doublewide mobile home was 80% percent involved. The vacant dwelling was located well off of the roadway and had no power connected. It appeared the residence had been vacant for several years. Firefighters deployed two 1-3/4 handlines to combat the fire, which destroyed approximately 80% of the building and gutting the remaining structure. They had the fire under control within 20 minutes, but were on scene for several hours performing overhaul. Water supply was conducted using Tenders pumping truck to truck. The cause of the fire appears to intentional.
