10/September/2016 – Fatal Shooting Incident – “A” Shift

Incident # 16-05978 – An adult male died from multiple gunshot wounds received Saturday night in the 400 block of Gadsden Loop. At 21:01, Colleton 9-1-1 Operators began receiving multiple reports of gun fire in the area of Gadsden Loop and Jackson Road. One caller advised a man had shot in the leg. Firefighter-Paramedics arrived minutes later to find the man lying in the yard between two homes. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was in critical condition. Crews quickly treated him at the scene, then Fire-Rescue transported him emergent in Medic 19 to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical in Summerville. The victim passed away a few hours later. The Colleton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.

Engine 1, Medic 19, Battalion 1 and Car 12 responded. Battalion Chief Scott O’Quinn served as Incident Commander.
