18/September/2016 – Dive Response – “B” Shift

Incident # 16-06146 – Fire-Rescue Divers were sent to the 2600 block of Dock Site Road on Edisto Island  Sunday morning 18-September. At 05:49, Medic 20 and Edisto Beach Fire Dept were sent to the location for a vehicle in a pond. The truck appeared to have over-turned before landing half submerged in the water. No occupants could be located. Edisto FD requested divers to search the vicinity of the vehicle for possible victims. Squad 27 and Marine 27 responded from the mainland. One diver was placed in the water and searched the area where the vehicle went into the water. No victims were located. Shortly thereafter, Edisto Police Officers located the driver of the truck at another location. He had fled the scene and was not injured.  

Engine 14, Squad 14, Medic 20, Squad 27, Marine 27 and Car 105 responded. Edisto Beach FD personnel served as Incident Command.
