15/October/2016 – MVC with ejection – “C” Shift

Incident # 16-06800 – A 29 year old Summerville woman was critically injured after she was ejected from her vehicle following an accident on I-95 near the 62 mile marker southbound Saturday evening 15-October. The accident was reported at 18:49, after the Lexus RX300 lost control and flipped over several times. The unrestrained driver was ejected from the car and found approx. 50 feet south of the vehicle in the breakdown down lane. An off duty nurse and NC Firefighter stopped to render aid until Fire-Rescue units arrived. The woman suffered life threatening, multiple traumatic injuries. Firefighter-Paramedics quickly treated her at the scene, then transported her emergent to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical in Summerville. Traffic in the area of the accident was down to one lane for over an hour. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

Engine 26, Medic 26, Battalion 1 and Car 12 responded. Firefighter-EMT Michael Sanders served as Incident Commander.
