19/October/2016 – Fatal MVC with ejection – “A” Shift

Incident # 16-06888 – A 33 year old Walterboro man died from injuries received after he was ejected from his pickup truck Wednesday evening 19-October. At 22:44, a passerby reported the accident in the 2800 block of McLeod Road, west of I-95. The 2004 Nissan Titan pickup truck was traveling east when it left the roadway and entered the woods. The truck struck several trees causing heavy damage. The unrestrained driver was ejected from the vehicle, suffering multiple traumatic injuries. Firefighter-Paramedics arrived minutes later and found the man laying unresponsive next to the truck. He had no signs of life. The Coroner’s Office was notified and responded to the scene. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

Engine 26, Medic 26, Rescue 1, Battalion 1, Car 12, Car 27 and Car 111 responded. Firefighter-EMT Tyler Allen served as Incident Commander.
