22/October/2016 – Structure Fire – “A” Shift Incident # 16-06939 – Quick action by the homeowner
saved a residence at 1910 Sidneys Road Saturday afternoon 22-October. At
15:55, 9-1-1 received a report of the fire in the kitchen which was
spreading through the home. Station 19, located 1 mile from the home arrived
quickly, but the homeowner had used a garden hose to douse most of the
flames. The majority of the fire was out when firefighters arrived. The
fire, which started on the stove, spread to the cabinets and then outside
the structure through the vent, damaging one exterior wall. Firefighters
deployed one 1-3/4 handline to insure the remainder of the fire was out. No
extension was found. A PPV fan was used to remove smoke for the house. The
doublewide mobile home suffered light smoke damage in addition to the
kitchen damage. No one was injured. Engine 19, Engine 24, Tender 1, Tender 19, Tender 26,
Medic 13, Medic 19, Battalion 1, Car 12 and Car 118 responded. Battalion
Chief Scott O’Quinn served as Incident Commander. |
