24/October/2016 – First Responder Luncheon

First Baptist Church in Walterboro sponsored a luncheon in honor of all area First Responders Monday 24-October at noon. The program featured a meal, door prizes and a presentation by Firefighter-Paramedic Tommy Nieman of St. Lucie Florida Fire-Rescue. Mr. Nieman travels the country ministering to others and relating his professional experience to God’s work. Music was performed by the talented Jason Lee Cook and the meal was provided by the Old House Restaurant. A little over 70 personnel from local law enforcement, Walterboro Fire and Colleton County Fire-Rescue attended. CCFR Firefighter-EMT Michael Sanders won the $500 door prize provided by Retired Fire Chief Richard B. Wood of Green Pond. Area businesses donated about 50 other door prizes. The event was held at the former Forest Circle Middle School Cafeteria.
