12/March/2017 – Fatal MVC with Ejection – “A” Shift Incident # 17-01662 – Three people were injured, one fatally, in a single car MVC near the 6800 block of Sidneys Road Sunday afternoon 12-March at 15:25. The 2005 Subaru Impreza was traveling north on Sidneys Road when it left the roadway at a high rate of speed. The car traveled down a small embankment, struck a stump and began to flip over several times, before striking several trees. An adult male occupant was ejected from the car and found in a wooded area a few feet from the car. Firefighter-Paramedics arrived to find the heavily damaged car on the northbound shoulder in the tree line. An adult female and a female child were out of the car with bystanders. The male patient had no signs of life. Crews treated both female patients at the scene and transported the adult to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical by Fire-Rescue Medic 26. The child was transported to Colleton Medical Center by Fire-Rescue Medic 9. The Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and transported the male patient. Sidneys Road in the area of the accident was closed for three hours. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. |
