15/July/2017 – Structure Fire – “B” Shift

Incident # 17-04861 – A singlewide mobile home was completely destroyed in an early morning fire Saturday 15-July. At 07:23, the homeowner woke up to discover the mobile home located in his back yard had burned down during the night. The building was used for storage. Engine 26 arrived to find the pile of burning debris and the frame rails. Firefighters removed the remains of the metal roof and one 1-3/4 handline to extinguish the smoldering debris underneath. A booster line was also used to extinguish a small woods fire. Tenders supplied water for the firefighting effort. Crews were on the scene for a little over an hour. The occupant advised his riding mower caught on fire the evening before. He extinguished the fire with a garden hose and thought the fire was out. It is believed the fire spread to the mobile home from the lawn mower which was only a few feet away from the structure.

Engine 26, Engine 27, Tender 1, Tender 19, Tender 26, Medic 26, Battalion 1, Car 112 and Car 119 responded. Battalion Chief Scott Feather served as Incident Commander.
