11/September/2017 – Structure Fire – “A” Shift Incident # 17-06309 – At 13:03 Monday afternoon during
the peak of Tropical force winds from Hurricane Irma, a neighbor reported
smoke and flames coming from a residence located at 141 Capital Road in the
Jacksonboro Community. Engine 2 arrived minutes later to find a singlewide
mobile home with moderate smoke coming from the front and eaves of the
building. Flames were visible from the front windows in the living room. A
neighbor advised the woman who lived there should be inside the mobile home.
Firefighter-Paramedics deployed one 1-3/4 handline and forced entry through
the front door. One crew quickly contained the fire while another crew
searched the building. No occupants were located. It was later learned the
woman had evacuated the home and was staying with relatives. The fire caused
heavy damage to the living room, but the remainder of the home was saved.
The fire appears to have started in the area of a power strip near the front
