07/November/2017 – Traumatic Injury with Air Evac – “A” Shift

 

Incident # 17-07695 – A five month old child was severely injured in a fall Tuesday morning 07-November at 08:28. The baby received a head injury and had complications at the scene. The C.A.R.E. Flight helicopter was alerted and was on standby at Colleton Medical Center’s helipad. Medic 19 transported emergent from the scene and met with C.A.R.E. Flight at the helipad. The patient was quickly transferred and flown to the Pediatric Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston. Due to the team effort and quick responses, the child was at the Trauma Center in under 45 minutes.

Engine 19, Medic 19, Battalion 1, Car 118 and Car 119 responded. Battalion Chief Joseph Campbell served as Incident Commander.
