08/November/2017 – Fatal MVC – “B” Shift

 Incident # 17-07732 - An 65 year old Ohio man was killed Wednesday afternoon 08-November when his bike was struck by a car on Hendersonville Hwy (US Hwy 17-A) approximately 1 mile south of Ritter Road at 14:02. The man was traveling north when he was struck by a north bound Ford Focus. Fire-Rescue units arrived minutes later to find the man and the bicycle at the wood line. The man suffered traumatic injuries and had no signs of life. The Coroner’s Office was notified and responded to the scene. The driver of the Ford was distraught, but not injured. The northbound lane of Hendersonville Hwy was blocked for 3-1/2 hours while State Troopers investigated the accident.

 Engine 13, Medic 13, Battalion 1 and Car 112 responded. Firefighter-EMT Ashley Ackerman served as Incident Commander.
