19/November/2017 – MVC with entrapment – “A” Shift Incident # 17-07960 – An adult male was injured and
trapped inside his small SUV following a single car crash in the 2000 block
of Hiers Corner Road Sunday afternoon 19-November. At 14:18, 9-1-1 received
a report of a vehicle that struck a tree and the driver was trapped.
Westside units were already enroute to a MVC with entrapment on Broxton
Bridge Highway. Car 27 arrived a short time later to find a small S-10
Blazer with heavy damage that had struck a tree head-on. The driver was
conscious but trapped in the car. The driver reported the car suffered a
mechanical problem which caused it to leave the roadway.
Firefighter-Paramedics used Holmatro rescue tools to extricate the man from
the car. He was transported to Colleton Medical Center. The SC Highway
Patrol is investigating the crash. Engine 26, Medic 1, Rescue 1, Car 27 and Car 118 responded. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton served as Incident Commander. |
