26/November/2017 – MVC with Air Evac – “A” Shift 

Incident # 17-08111 – A 63 yr old male received serious injuries after he was struck by a car on Johnsville Road near Sizemore Road Sunday morning 26-November at 05:06. The man had been riding a bicycle when he was struck and bystanders found him semiconscious in a ditch. Firefighter-Paramedics treated him at the scene and requested the C.A.R.E. Flight helicopter to respond. The patient was immobilized, placed in Medic 26, then transported to a nearby baseball field to meet with the helicopter. His care was transferred to the Flight Crew, who flew him to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.  

Engine 26, Medic 26, Battalion 1 and Car 112 responded. Firefighter-Paramedic Brian Bishop served as Incident Commander.
