17/December/2017 – Stabbing Incident – “B” Shift

Incident # 17-8600 – A 49 year old man was in critical condition following a stabbing incident that occurred in the 23000 block of Augusta Hwy Sunday evening 17-December at 21:42. A friend drove the man toward Colleton Medical Center in a private car but called 9-1-1 while enroute. Sheriff Deputies and Fire-Rescue units intercepted the vehicle on Sidneys Road, where Firefighter-Paramedics began treating the man for his single stab wound to the torso. Crews quickly controlled his bleeding, then rapidly transported him to the helipad at Colleton Medical Center to meet with the C.A.R.E. Flight helicopter. He was transferred to the Flight Crew and flown to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston. The Sheriff’s Department apprehended a suspect a short time later.

Engine 19, Medic 19 and Battalion 1 responded. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton served as Incident Commander.
