07/February/2018 – Shooting Incident – “C” Shift

Incident # 18-01013 – An adult male received two gunshot wounds to the thigh in a shooting incident Wednesday evening 08-February. At 20:47, Fire-Rescue units were dispatched to 609 Francis Street for the report of a person shot. Information indicated the actual incident location occurred at a business on Hampton Street and the patient was brought to this location approximately 9 blocks away. As emergency units were arriving on Francis Street, 9-1-1 Dispatchers advised of a second victim that was driven to Colleton Medical Center’s ED by private car. The second victim received a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the foot. WPD secured the crime scene, while Firefighter-Paramedics began treating the man in the backseat of the car. His injuries were suspected of being life threatening, so he was rapidly transported to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston by Fire-Rescue Medic 19. The Walterboro Police Department is investigating the incident.
