20/February/2018 – Structure Fire – “C” Shift

Incident # 18-01271 – Firefighters saved a residence at 123 Hamwalk Lane north of Cottageville Tuesday morning 20-Febraury. At 07:48, units were notified of a residence on fire at this location. Engine 9 arrived a short time later to find smoke and flames coming from the front of the singlewide mobile home. Firefighter-Paramedics deployed one 1-3/4 handline and entered the structure. They were able to quickly knock down the flames and contain the fire to one room. The room suffered heavy fire damage, but the remainder of the home and most of the family’s belongings were saved. The homeowner closed the bedroom door which slowed the fire spread. The cause of the fire was an overloaded power strip in the bedroom.  

Engine 9, Engine 19, Engine 36, Tender 2, Tender 9, Tender 19, Medic 9, Battalion 1 and Car 118 responded. Firefighter-Paramedic KC Campbell served as Incident Commander.
