12/May/2018 – MVC with Air Evac – “A” Shift Incident # 18-03355 - An adult male received multiple
traumatic injuries in a single vehicle, motorcycle MVC in the 5000 block of
Sidneys Road Saturday afternoon 12-May at 20:04. The southbound Harley
Davidson motorcycle left the roadway in a curve, entered the ditch and began
to flip over several times, ejecting the driver. The motorcycle landed in
the roadway and the driver was found unconscious in the ditch by a passing
motorist. Firefighter-Paramedics arrived minutes later to find the man still
unconscious. They began treating him and placed the C.A.R.E. Flight
helicopter on standby at the hospital. The patient was quickly immobilized
at the scene, then rapidly transported to the helipad at CMC to meet with
the Flight Crew. He regained consciousness before being placed in the
helicopter. C.A.R.E. Flight flew him to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical
Center in North Charleston. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the
collision. Tender 26, Medic 26 and Car 112 responded.
