29/May/2018 – Car vs Tree MVC – “C” Shift

Incident # 18-03778 – A single car MVC sent a young woman to the Trauma Center Tuesday afternoon 29-May. At 17:25, 9-1-1 received several reports of the accident. The small car was traveling northbound in the 16000 block of Round O Road when it left the roadway and struck several large trees. The car received heavy damage in the collision and the adult female driver suffered multiple traumatic injuries. When Engine 36 arrived, Firefighters used hand tools to force open the driver’s door. Firefighters began treating the woman’s injuries until Medic 26 arrived. The patient was transferred to the ambulance, then transported emergent to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.

Engine 32, Engine 36, Medic 9, Medic 26, Rescue 1, Battalion 1, Car 112 and Car 118 responded. Firefighter-EMT Peter Bohrer served as Incident Commander.
