31/July/2018 – High Speed MVC – “C” Shift

Incident # 18-05290 – A single car, high speed MVC sent two women to a Trauma Center Tuesday afternoon 31-July at 19:45. The small passenger car left the roadway, struck a tree and overturned in the 10000 block of Sidneys Road, just south of Augusta Hwy. Both occupants suffered multiple traumatic injuries, with the passenger receiving more serious injuries. Firefighter-Paramedics found the roadway blocked by the car and debris. Crews quickly treated both patients at the scene, then rapidly transported them to the Trauma Center at Trident Hospital in North Charleston in Fire-Rescue Medic 9. Additional personnel assisted with the patient care during the transport to Trident. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.

Engine 36, Medic 9, Battalion 1 and Car 27 responded. Captain Ethan Shieder served as Incident Commander.
